All Time Favorite Rock 'n' Roll Lyrics

I like these lyrics from Bruce Springsteen's Pink Cadillac because I can soooooooo picture Arthur saying them:

You may wonder how come I love you
When you get on my nerves like you do
Well baby, you know you bug me
There ain’t no secret about that

Fellow Bloggers, share with me your favorite lyrics!

Out on the road today, I saw a DEADHEAD sticker on a Cadillac
A little voice Inside my head said, "Don't look back. You can never look back."
I thought I knew what love was
What did I know?

or

You give your hand to me
And then you say hello
I can hardly speak
My heart is beating so
And anyone can tell
You think you know me well
But you don't know me

or

But I'm warning you, don't ever do
those crazy, messed-up things that you do
If you ever do,
I promise you I'll be the first to crucify you
Now it's time to prove that you've come back
here to rebuild
Rebuild...

One wouldn't know that I am a romantic at heart, would they?

If I could only have you near
To breathe a sigh or two
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
Upon this winter night with you.

Dean was working 400 km away, coming home on weekends. One Saturday night in December, we filled the thermos with hot chocolate, bundled the pyjama-clad children into the car, and drove around looking at Christmas lights. This song always takes me back to that evening.

I feel so unworthy of these soul-stirring lyrics. At this moment, I have none of my own to add. I must retire for the night so that I can come up with something good. Stay tuned.

Did I dream this belief or did I believe this dream
Now I can find relief, I grieve

-Peter Gabriel

for something happier:

Ahhh won't you take me home tonight, ahhhh down beside that red firelight
Ahhh you gotta let it all hang out, fat-bottom girls you make the rockin' world go round

(Makes a girl with a booty feel good :))

On a less melancholy note:

Underneath your clothes,
There's an endless story.
There's the man I chose,
There's my territory,
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl.

If you haven't listened to Shakira, check her out. She knows what she's talking about.

Wow - those are some interesting lyrics. Most of them (except fat bottom girls, lol!) are possibly a little more serious than my silly lyrics.

I think the songs we like say a lot about what's going on with us at any given time.

Cheers,
Trillian

Unsurprisingly, some of my favourite lyrics come from Stones tunes.

Inspired raunch from 'Star Star':

Yeah, I heard about your Polaroids
Now that's what I call obscene
Your tricks with fruit
Was kind of cute
I bet you keep your pussy clean
Honey, I miss your two tongue kisses
Legs wrapped around me tight
If I ever get back to New York, girl
Gonna make you scream all night

From 'Some Girls':

French girls they want Cartier
Italian girls want cars
American girls want everything in the world
You can possibly imagine

English girls they're so prissy
I can't stand them on the telephone
Sometimes I take the receiver off the hook
I don't want them to ever call at all
